Sumac Hummus

Sumac Hummus

 

Sumac Hummus is an easy and tasty appetizer, delicious enjoyed with pita chips or flatread!


Ingredients:

•    5 oz of cooked chickpeas (or approximately ½ cup of canned, drained chickpeas) 
•    1 teaspoon salt 
•    2 teaspoons crushed sumac 
•    1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice 
•    1 teaspoon olive oil 
•    ¼ cup cashews (optional)

Instructions:

If using cashews (for creamier consistency) soak for 15 minutes in enough water to cover. Drain cashews before proceeding.

Place chickpeas, salt, sumac, lemon juice, olive oil and cashews (if using) into a high power blender and blend for 5 minutes.

Serve with pita chips or naan

Serves 2
